Sayyidul Istighfar (The Master Prayer for Forgiveness)

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ

Allāhumma anta Rabbī lā ilāha illā anta, khalaqtanī wa anā 'abduka, wa anā 'alā 'ahdika wa wa'dika mas-taṭa'tu, a'ūdhu bika min sharri mā ṣana'tu, abū'u laka bi-ni'matika 'alayya, wa abū'u bi-dhanbī faghfir lī fa-innahū lā yaghfirudh-dhunūba illā ant.

"O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no deity except You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I abide by Your covenant and promise as much as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for none forgives sins except You."

Purpose: The supreme prayer of repentance acknowledging Allah's lordship and human imperfection.

Dua for Laylatul Qadr (Night of Decree)

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Allāhumma innaka 'Afuwwun tuḥibbul-'afwa fa'fu 'annī.

"O Allah, You are Pardoning, You love to pardon, so pardon me."

Purpose: The ultimate prayer during Ramadan and Laylatul Qadr for divine pardon ('Afw).

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أُشْرِكَ بِكَ وَأَنَا أَعْلَمُ، وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا لاَ أَعْلَمُ

Allāhumma innī a'ūdhu bika an ushrika bika wa anā a'lam, wa astaghfiruka limā lā a'lam.

"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowingly associating partners with You, and I seek Your forgiveness for that which I do not know."

Purpose: Purifying intentions from subtle showing off (Riya') and hidden polytheism.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

Purpose: Cleansing sins, expanding sustenance, and relieving anxiety.

Dua for Increase in Mercy & Guiding Light

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْغَافِرِينَ

Rabbanāgh-fir lanā warḥamnā wa anta khayrul-ghāfirīn.

"Our Lord, forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of forgivers."

Purpose: Interceding for forgiveness when a community or family falls into mistake.
