Who We Are

Who We Are / About Us

Quran Transliteration is an open-access, non-commercial digital education initiative engineered to remove linguistic barriers between non-Arabic speaking Muslims and the Holy Qur'an. It reproduces the Qur'anic text and established translations from documented published sources, paired with recitation from ten well-known Qaris, and is built and maintained by its own small team.

We believe every believer and seeker of knowledge should have effortless, high-precision access to the divine speech of Allah (SWT), regardless of their geographic location, language background, or level of Arabic literacy.

📖

Documented Sources

Every text is reproduced from a named published edition — Uthmani script, Saheeh International, Maududi, Ibn Kathir — each listed with its provenance on our editorial standards page.

Technological Innovation

Word-level timing data highlights each word as it is recited, across ten reciters, so you can follow the Arabic while you listen.

🛡️

Purity & Zero Ads

We maintain absolute sanctity over sacred scriptures. No commercial advertisements appear over Quranic text.

🌍

Universal Access

Free, works on any modern browser, installs as an app, reads offline, and ships downloadable PDFs of every surah.

Our Story

Story / History of Quran Transliteration

Founded in 2021 by a dedicated coalition of software developers and Quranic studies researchers in New York, Quran Transliteration began as a simple internal tool to assist new Muslims and non-Arabic native students learning to recite Surah Al-Fatiha and short surahs for daily Salah.

Recognizing that existing online transliteration sites were often cluttered with ad banners, inaccurate diacritics, and out-of-sync audio files, our founders set out to build a modern digital platform adhering to the highest web performance and Tajweed standards.

How This Site Is Built

What we actually do, and what we don't

🛡️

What we can stand behind

The Arabic text, translations and tafsir on this site are reproduced from established published editions rather than authored by us — the Uthmani and Indo-Pak script from Quran.com, Saheeh International for English, Maududi for Urdu, and Tafsir Ibn Kathir. Recitation audio and its word-level timing data come from Quran.com's API. We store the text offline so the reader works without a connection, and we serve it with no advertisements and no third-party trackers of any kind.

What we do not claim: there is no scholarly review board, no Tajweed certification process, and no in-house audit of the Arabic script. The verse transliteration is a third-party edition with known limitations. Our editorial standards page lists every source, states what is and is not reviewed, and explains how to report an error.
